Wild Black Trumpet, dried

(Craterellus cornucopioides) Also known as Horn of Plenty, Black Trumpets are part of the chanterelle family. They have a buttery aroma and flavor with sweet earthy richness that goes a long way to flavor soups, stews and casseroles.
Their dark color makes for an elegant contrast to lighter dishes such as chicken, white fish and white sauces.
